Custom Millwork Built for NoDa's Artistic Character
NoDa has always drawn people who care about detail, from the original mill workers who built its cottages to the artists and musicians who filled the storefronts along N Davidson Street decades later. That same appreciation for craftsmanship shows up in how homeowners here approach renovation: they want work that respects the building's age without freezing it in time.
Many of the homes in this pocket of Charlotte started as small mill houses with narrow footprints and low ceilings. Custom woodwork and built-in solutions matter here more than in newer subdivisions, because there's often no room to waste and no big-box cabinet that fits an odd angle or a century-old wall.
Whether you're near the Blue Line stops at 25th Street or 36th Street, tucked into Villa Heights, or renovating a bungalow within walking distance of the Neighborhood Theatre and NoDa Brewing Company, we design finish carpentry and cabinetry that fits your home's actual dimensions and your daily routine.
Why NoDa homeowners choose us
A Remodeling Contractor Who Understands Mill Village Homes
NoDa's charm comes from its history, but that history brings real renovation challenges: tight lots, older framing, and rooms that were never built with modern storage in mind. Homeowners here need a team that can work within those constraints without cutting corners.
We've spent years solving exactly those problems for families across NoDa and the surrounding Charlotte neighborhoods, which is why so many of our projects come from referrals.
Craftsmanship That Respects the Original Home
We specialize in custom carpentry that works with a mill house's existing character, not against it, matching trim profiles and preserving architectural details homeowners want to keep.
Solutions for Small, Irregular Spaces
NoDa's narrow lots and older layouts call for smart custom storage and built-in furniture rather than off-the-shelf cabinetry that never quite fits the room.
Local Permitting and Renovation Experience
We know how the City of Charlotte handles permitting for older homes in established neighborhoods, which keeps projects near N Davidson Street and Yadkin Avenue moving without delays.

Knowledgeable, professional and dependable.
Scott and his crew are knowledgeable and professional. We've done several home improvement projects with them throughout the years. We started with a small job of opening a wall and since then they have updated our kitchen, guest bathrooms and have completed a major bathroom renovation. We're proud to be repeat customers.

I contacted Premier Renovations to renovate my kitchen and two bathrooms. My parents would be moving upstairs into the space so it needed to be accommodating to their needs now and going forward. Scott and his team did an amazing job creating a comfortable and safe place for my parents while also staying within our budget. They have moved in and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Premier just completed a major home renovation for us, new kitchen, new master bathroom and new hardwood floors. Premier's workforce was amazing and they cleaned up the jobsite everyday. The contractors they bring in to do the electrical, the flooring, the painting, and the tile work - they are all fabulous as well. We could trust them all and we would often leave during the day while they were working. Great job, will definitely use them again - here are some photos of the finished renovation of the kitchen and bathroom.

Just finished remodel of our master bath. Everyone at Premier was flexible and easy to work with throughout the process. Communication was great and the pricing was very fair. Everyone who came out from the demolition to the plumber, electrician and clean up were friendly and professional. They kept everything moving along and limited any disruption in our lives. We could not be happier with the finished product.

From start to finish, Premier Renovations was amazing to work with; I have recommended them to several friends! The entire team was very respectful, hard working and it was apparent how much they all enjoy their jobs which was nice to see! I really felt they go above and beyond to ensure the customer was pleased with the end product. I was beyond impressed with their communication throughout the entire project; whether it was to let me know the day to day schedule, or promptly responding to any inquiries. I can’t recommend them enough and plan to use them on future projects!

Our Services
Renovation Services Across Charlotte and Beyond
Premier Renovations, Inc. also serves homeowners throughout these North Carolina communities:
Do you handle full home renovations or just single rooms?
Both. We're set up as a whole home remodeling contractor, so we can manage a full house transformation from the framing stage through final finish work, or we can focus on one space like a kitchen or bathroom.
What makes you different from a typical kitchen renovation contractor?
Our carpenters build custom cabinetry and millwork in-house, so your custom kitchen renovation isn't limited to stock cabinet lines. We design and build cabinetry to fit your exact layout and storage needs.
Do you handle permitting for structural work like additions?
Yes. We handle permitting and structural work for home additions and room expansions alongside our finish carpentry and remodeling services.
How does a renovation consultation work?
We start with an on-site walkthrough to understand your goals, existing layout, and budget. From there, we put together a scope of work and timeline before any contract is signed, so you know what to expect before committing.
